Happy October!
If you follow me on Twitter (which you all should, October is marking a bit of a change of pace for me), then you'll know that all September I was tweeting about how I'd be doing Blogtober this year and undertaking another crazy challenge to fit my personal brand of doing things for "shits and gigs”. Well… after a lot of thought, stress, and that sweet, sweet nihilistic feeling you get as a graduate, I decided that this ain't me! I'm not really the kind of blogger who can just bosh out 31 posts in a few weekends, and I'm not the kind of blogger who even really identifies as a blogger. I'm just a kid with some dreams and a self-created platform to document my thoughts and feelings and dessert recipes.
I decided that instead of forcing myself down another creative challenge that isn't suited to me, I'm challenging myself to do a different kind of Blogtober. The kind of Blogtober that will make me feel that sense of achievement that I get when I finish a shrine on Zelda, or successfully extinguish my Sim when they get caught on fire. I'm going to stick to what I already do and be happy that I even bother to write, photograph, edit, and engage with the blogging community as it is.
Doesn't sound like much of a challenge to most but to me it's hopefully going to remind me of the values of my blog and remind me why I started it in the first place. If you're another blogger or person out there who might be feeling a little lost in life, then stick around for my version of Blogtober and hopefully you'll find something that gives you a little more direction, even if that's just for a moment.
On the much brighter side, I have met and built up such a lovely community of bloggers who are doing Blogtober, so be sure to spread the love to these guys this month:

Until next time friends,
Mid Autumn Festival approaches, and the time comes for me to shove an ungodly amount of mooncakes into my mouth. But, before we dive into the cosy autumn months, let's take a quick look at this past summer through the lens of food!
